Maybe you’ve heard a lot about Him or maybe you are inquiring for the first time.
He is the reason why we gather and the object of our worship.
How does a person who lived over 2000 years ago gain this type of love from us?
Read on and we’ll share some of His story.
JESUS CHRIST – Prophet, preacher, teacher
Prophet, preacher, teacher…All these would aptly describe our Lord Jesus Christ. Some years ago, a woman recognized Him as a Prophet.
Another man described Him as a “Teacher”. He is a teacher and a prophet but much more than that.
What we know of Jesus’ teaching are captured in the Holy Bible.
The Bible is the main reference point we have for learning truths about Jesus. While Jesus walked the earth 2000 years ago He had much to say.
Jesus taught wonderful and radical truths, like love your neighbor as yourself, love your enemies and bless those that curse you!
He said some hard things to understand like “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by Me”.
But being a great teacher doesn’t warrant the type of devotion Jesus has received by billions around the world for over 2000 years.
No, it takes being more than a teacher and more than just a spiritual leader.
It takes something miraculous, something life changing, something real that can cross the barriers of circumstances, geography, culture, age, gender and ethnicity.
It takes God Himself, and that is exactly who Jesus is.
We believe that Jesus is God.
JESUS CHRIST, God our Creator
We believe not only did Jesus live 2000 years ago but unlike other great teachers He still lives today.
This separates Him from all the rest. We believe Jesus is the Beginning and End of all that is.
The Bible tells us that Jesus is our Creator. All things were made by Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. On earth He was God who become flesh.
He demonstrated God’s character. A character of love so strong that He was willing to give His life so that all of us would have real life, life immortal and eternal.
We believe that anyone that believes and trusts in Jesus shall have life now and eternally.
We believe as Jesus taught that the person that believes in Him will never die but will have eternal life.
We believe that faith in Jesus cancels eternal judgment and brings transformation.
JESUS CHRIST, God our Savior
One would think that those who are created would appreciate their creator, however that’s not the way it’s been with mankind.
Our scripture tells us that all mankind, you, me, all of us have done wrong in God’s eyes.
We have rebelled against His holy ways. As with any system, when one lives outside the system of God’s Kingdom, there is a penalty.
The penalty of this sin, our wrongdoing against God is death, not just physical death but eternal death separated from God.
The fantastic news is that Jesus has come to take away the penalty of this death.
Jesus said I don’t come to condemn the world but to save the world.
Without a savior, without someone that would sacrifice to pay the penalty for these destructive ways, mankind would be lost.
But because of His great love for us He gave His earthly life and paid the penalty for us. In all His greatness, beauty and majesty, He died like a common criminal so we could live and be at peace with God. Not only did Jesus die, but He proved Himself to be God by rising from the dead.
You can read more about this in the Bible. Volumes upon volumes have been written about that pivotal moment in time when Jesus rose from the dead. Suffice it to say, our world has never been the same.
Friend, we are passionate about Jesus because we believe He is passionate about us.
We believe as our Savior, He seeks relationships with each of us.
Wherever you find yourself today, on top of the world, at your lowest of lows or somewhere in between, He offers you an invitation to life that is hard to resist.
We have experienced that life. We have learned to love Him and we have learned how much He loves us. Our lives have been changed forever since He came into our lives.
We are changed, empowered and have experienced His supernatural power in our lives on a daily basis.
We wouldn’t trade relationship with Him for anything in the universe! We have learned what it means to live for Him and with Him and as citizens of His Kingdom.
You can too!
